What to expect - First Fridays:
What we have observed and the information that we have gathered from our neighbours is that First Fridays is a hip and happening time, especially when we have nice weather!
The crowd is a moving crowd; they move from building to building exploring all of the shops and art exhibits.
This is exactly why I don’t teach yoga on these nights. LOL.
I’ve seen all ages, mostly adults though.

Sidewalk sign
We post a sidewalk sign outside the building with vendors info as well!
Posters in the hallways
Feel free to print posters for each floor, the elevator, and the lobby.
Take aways
I’m all about going green! We choose to have people take a picture of our poster on the wall.
However… people like takeaways. I’m almost out of business cards! Feel free to bring along yours!

Parking and loading in the Exchange
Please watch the signs! Parking is free after 5:30pm on the street. The cost to park on the street is reasonable. Remember to only pay up until 5:30pm.
There is a small paid parking lot across the street. And a parade next door to us.
Some people load right in front of the building. I personally don’t recommend this as it creates a traffic jam during rush hour. If you have to load, and cannot carry something down the street, On the west side of the building between the building and the parade there is an alley/backlane. I don’t suggest staying there long however it is a loading option.
What to expect in this space
Spaces available:
6 foot table - $35
5 foot table (Ikea gateleg) with small space beside for display $35
(Note: I have three 6 foot tables available for use at no cost - first come first serve)
Set up:
Early set-up might be available. We will let vendors know 1 week before.
I (Bernie) will be there at 4:30pm to let vendors in.
(If you are still setting up past 5pm, no worries, First Fridays is pretty relaxed and chill)
• I’ve got chairs! If you need more than 1, or, none at all please let me know.
• Electrical: I’ve got some extension cords and a power bar. It is shared electrical in the studio.
• Walls: Please do not tape posters or hang banners from the walls inside our studio. (Outside the studio is ok)
• So far we have been lucky with our spring cooler weather. But it can get warm in there with lots of people. We will have a couple fans going, and hopefully soon a window AC.
• Be sure to bring water! Its can get a bit dry, especially when chatting all night to guests.
• Washrooms: The men’s washroom is on our floor, and the women’s is on the 4th floor.
I’m personally not shy.. I’ll use the men’s. The urinal is out of order anyways. lol.
• Plants! We love plants! They give us oxygen! I’ll be moving some around to make room for the tables.
Please… do not touch the cactus plants.
• We encourage everyone to say hello to our wonderful neighbours on all floors!
First Fridays are exciting for us; the doors are open and we are able to welcome the community in to say hello.
I personally love the vibe of the exchange district. I have already experienced such a warm welcome by all our neighbours in the building, and have met so many amazing people on First Fridays.
Welcome vendors to First Fridays!
