What is an interactive booth?
Do you have a unique way to promote your business and help create community? Id love to hear about it!
The pictures below are an example of a interactive booth. In February 2025, Rayne Foy-Vachon, Death Doula hosted a "Grief Care is Self-Care" Grief Circle at the event. A couch and lounger was set up (along with boxes of Kleenex), as well as Rayne's display table.

What to expect - First Fridays:
What I have observed and the information that I have gathered from my neighbours is that First Fridays is a hip and happening time, especially when we have nice weather!
The crowd is a moving crowd; they move from building to building exploring all of the shops and art exhibits.
This is exactly why I don’t teach yoga on these nights. LOL.
I’ve seen all ages, mostly adults though.

Parking and loading in the Exchange
Please watch the signs! Parking is free after 5:30pm on the street. The cost to park on the street is reasonable. Remember to only pay up until 5:30pm.
There is a small paid parking lot across the street. And a parade next door to us.
Some people load right in front of the building. I personally don’t recommend this as it creates a traffic jam during rush hour. If you have to load, and cannot carry something down the street, On the west side of the building between the building and the parade there is an alley/backlane. I don’t suggest staying there long however it is a loading option.

We post a sidewalk sign outside the building with vendors info as well!
Posters in the hallways
Feel free to print posters for each floor, the elevator, and the lobby.
I post arrows pointing towards the elevator, and a sign in the elevator to bring people to the 5th floor.
Take aways
I’m all about going green! We choose to have people take a picture of our poster on the wall.
However… people like takeaways. I’m almost out of business cards! Feel free to bring along yours!

Handmade Market Set up:
Early set-up might be available. We will let vendors know 1 week before.
I (Bernie) will be there at 4:30pm to let vendors in.
(If you are still setting up past 5pm, no worries, First Fridays is pretty relaxed and chill)
• I’ve got chairs! If you need more than 1, or, none at all please let me know.
• Electrical: I’ve got some extension cords and a power bar. It is shared electrical in the studio.
• Signage: Feel free to place a sign in the hallway outside the studio. Please do not tape posters or hang banners from the walls inside the studio.
In addition, this is not a trade show, please no large banner stands.
• Be sure to bring water! Its can get a bit dry, especially when chatting all night to guests.
• Washrooms: The men’s washroom is on our floor, and the women’s is on the 4th floor. (everyone uses the mens washroom)
• I encourage everyone to say hello to my wonderful neighbours on all floors! We have 4 studios on the 5th floor participating in First Fridays, as well as the 3rd, 2nd and main floor!
